In this series we explore the black identity.

It challenges colorism by only depicting people of color with black colored skin. It is a reclamation of "black face" once used to subjugate and oppress our features with emphasis on the hair, nose and lips. Each painting has symbolic dress with inherit personal characteristics that a person of color can associate with.
